ShipmentVisibility

Real time shipment tracking features for every carrier and mode

ShipmentVisibility puts every parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean container and air cargo shipment in one live list, predicts when each one arrives, and tells your team and your customers about delays before anyone has to ask. Here is every feature and the plan it starts in.

One unified shipment list across carriers

Every shipment you track lands in one list with the same columns, whatever the carrier or mode, so your team stops switching between carrier websites, portals and spreadsheets.

  • Filter by mode, carrier, status, lane, customer or exception
  • Saved views for late shipments, arriving today and containers near last free day
  • Bulk actions to tag, share or archive shipments
  • Search by tracking, PRO, container, air waybill, BOL or your own reference

Starts in Starter.

Carrier auto detection from the number format

Paste a number and ShipmentVisibility recognizes the mode and carrier from its format and check digit, so nobody has to choose from a dropdown for every line.

  • ISO 6346 container numbers validated by check digit, with the owner code mapped to the line, such as MSCU, MAEU, CMAU, HLCU and OOLU
  • Air waybills read by their 3 digit airline prefix and mod 7 check digit
  • UPS 1Z numbers checked by check digit, FedEx 12 and 15 digit numbers, USPS 20 to 22 digit numbers with mod 10
  • LTL PRO numbers matched to carrier formats, with "LTL PRO, choose carrier" when a format is shared

Starts in Starter. Read more on PRO number tracking and container tracking.

Live events and normalized milestones

Each carrier describes events in its own words. ShipmentVisibility translates them into one set of milestones, so a pickup, a terminal arrival or a gate out reads the same across UPS, Estes, Maersk or an airline.

  • Picked up, departed terminal, arrived at terminal, out for delivery, delivered with POD
  • Appointment set, appointment missed, delivery attempted, OS&D reported
  • Booked, received, departed, arrived and delivered for air cargo
  • Raw carrier text kept next to every milestone for the details

Starts in Starter.

Map and milestone timeline for every shipment

Open any shipment to see where it is on the map and how it got there on a timeline, from pickup or port of loading to final delivery.

  • Route drawn from terminals, ports and airports reported by the carrier
  • Timeline with scheduled and actual times side by side
  • Dwell time shown at every stop

Starts in Starter.

Predicted ETA with a confidence range

The carrier's estimate is only one input. ShipmentVisibility weighs it against the latest events, dwell at terminals and ports, and how the same lane has run recently, then shows an arrival window you can plan receiving and appointments around.

  • Earliest and latest likely arrival, not a single date
  • The range narrows as the shipment moves and new events arrive
  • A later ETA triggers an alert before the original date passes

Starts in Growth.

Exceptions and alerts by email, Slack and webhooks

Rules decide which events matter to whom, so the warehouse hears about a late container and the account manager hears about a customer's delayed order.

  • Delay, later ETA, long dwell, missed appointment, failed delivery attempt and OS&D alerts
  • Email alerts on every plan
  • Slack channel alerts and webhooks to your own systems
  • Routing by customer, lane, carrier or mode

Email alerts start in Starter, Slack and webhook alerts start in Growth.

Branded tracking page for your customers

Give every customer a tracking link in your logo and colors instead of a carrier page they do not recognize, with the ETA and milestones in plain language.

  • Shareable link for every shipment
  • Your logo, colors and support contact on the page
  • Your own custom domain on Enterprise

Starts in Growth. Read more about the branded tracking page.

Customer notification emails

Your customers receive shipped, delayed, out for delivery and delivered emails sent in your brand, so they hear about a delay from you first.

  • Messages triggered by real tracking milestones
  • Branded layout matching your tracking page
  • Turn each message on or off per account or client

Starts in Growth.

Carrier on-time scorecards by lane

See which carriers deliver on time on which lanes, based on the shipments you actually tracked, and bring facts to your next rate negotiation.

  • On-time delivery and pickup by carrier, lane and mode
  • Average transit time and dwell per lane
  • Exception counts per carrier
  • Export for quarterly business reviews

Starts in Pro.

Ocean milestones and last free day reminders

Ocean containers get their own milestone set from vessel departure to empty return, plus reminders that help you pick up and return equipment before demurrage and detention charges begin.

  • Vessel departure, transshipment, port arrival, discharge, gate out and empty return
  • Last free day reminders for pickup and empty return
  • Vessel name and voyage on every container

Ocean container tracking starts in Starter, ocean milestones and last free day reminders start in Pro. Read more on container tracking.

CSV upload, export and REST API

Bring shipments in the way you already work and take the data out whenever you need it.

  • CSV upload of tracking, PRO, container, air waybill and BOL numbers with your references
  • CSV export of shipments, events and ETAs
  • REST API to add shipments and read status, plus webhooks for every tracking event

CSV starts in Starter, the REST API and event webhooks start in Pro. Read more on the shipment tracking API page.

Client sub-accounts for 3PLs and forwarders

Run every client from one account while each client sees only its own shipments, alerts and branded tracking page.

  • One sub-account per client with its own users
  • Separate branding and notifications per client
  • Your team switches between clients without logging out

Starts in Pro.

Team roles and permissions

Decide who can add shipments, change alert rules, manage billing or only view, so a large team works in one account without stepping on each other.

  • Shared account with team seats on every plan
  • Custom roles and permissions on Enterprise
  • Audit log of changes on Enterprise

Team seats start in Starter, roles and permissions start in Enterprise.

Single sign-on with SAML

Let your identity provider control access, so people join and leave ShipmentVisibility with the rest of your company systems.

  • SAML single sign-on
  • Access removed the moment a user is disabled in your directory

Starts in Enterprise. Read more on security and data handling.
